Today, I will continue sharing about our vacation out West last summer. In case you missed it, read Part I, Part II, and Part III.
After we left Antelope Canyon and had lunch overlooking Lake Powell, we drove to Zion National Park.
The drive is beautiful. If you have the time and want to extend your vacation, you could plan to stay the night in Kanab, Utah. The town is super cute and there are various excursions around the area. We stopped at Little Hollywood Land Museum, where they house old Hollywood western movie sets. Philip and I weren’t too impressed. If you have younger children, it might be more fun. They don’t charge tickets but do allow for donations.
This route (shared above) takes you straight into Zion National Park. The drive is spectacular. I’ve never seen something so beautiful. There are various places to pull off to the side and take photos. The drive also takes you through a tunnel in a mountain.
The road takes you through the park and right into Springdale, Utah, which sits just right outside the other park entrance. We stopped for coffee and dessert at FeelLove Coffee before heading to our hotel, Desert Pearl Inn. Desert Pearl Inn was a splurge for us, but was worth it. This inn provided the best accommodations. The bed was comfortable, and the room was extremely clean. The couch made out into a bed for Philip, and we had a full kitchen. Our room looked out over the swimming pool, which was great if you have a child. The rooms in the back overlook the river, and if I didn’t have a child I would have stayed in one of those rooms as it was very relaxing.
Once we got settled into the room, Philip went straight for the pool. We ordered food and spent the late afternoon/evening in and by the pool. Zion was hotter than the other places we had stayed, so the pool was perfect. The property also had deer, and we loved exploring the back of the property.
Our one regret was that we didn’t stay at least an extra day at Zion and Desert Pearl. We’ve already discussed taking another trip in the future and staying the entire week here.
Springdale is super cute and has many hotels and restaurants up and down the main road. You can’t go wrong.
I think I’ll finally be able to wrap up our vacation with one last post. Until then…
